Distributed Localization Infrastructure

Low-cost sensing infrastructure that robots and IoT devices share, so position becomes a property of the environment rather than the robot.

A robot that must carry all of its own localization is a robot constrained by what it can carry. This thread develops shared infrastructure instead: portable IoT-based localization, multi-marker multi-camera tracking, and wireless two-way interferometry in which a mobile robot scans the carrier phase of a propagating wave. Together they treat localization as a service the environment provides, which is the precondition for a team of agents agreeing on where anything is.
